Victoria Beckham Beauty - Swatches and Review
Do you have some beauty brands you are intrigued by but didn’t initially purchase because of overwhelmingly positive reviews, which made you doubt those reviews? How can it be that good? I get it, that was me with Victoria Beckham Beauty, especially since I'm not really a fan and I don't really like celebrity brands. I remember thinking “It can’t be that good, and even if it is, did they consider darker skin tones?”
It took me years to try VBB, I finally purchased a Posh lipstick in Play, Lid Lustre in Mink, and Satin Kajal eyeliner in Boudreaux. I won’t keep you in suspense, I love absolutely everything about the products I purchased, from the aesthetic and quality of the packaging to the formulas and the shades. Just perfection all around, and worthy of the luxury price tag.
I’ve been waiting for the Lid Lustre in Mink to come in stock for months. It is such a unique taupe, and works beautifully with my warm-toned skin. I was a bit skeptical because most taupes look like I have a black eye, but this one is complementary and sophisticated. Check it out:
The packaging is weighty and pure luxury, I love the tortoise shell pattern and the minimalist logo. The shadow itself is creamy to the touch and application is a breeze with just your finger. It lasts me most of the day in spite of not using primer and my having hooded lids. There is some wear from friction of course, but no obvious creasing or patchiness.
Next, the liner Bordeaux is just stunning. I’m not one to lack eyeliners in my large collection, but I just couldn’t resist after seeing a video ad flash across my Instagram feed. It is so creamy and blendable. You have a minute or two to work with it before it sets, and it comes with a blender on the other end. Hands down the best pencil liner in my collection. I would purchase more of these liners. The liner is swatched in the middle
Lastly, the Posh Lipstick in Play is my new favorite formula and shade. It feels like a balm, but it is pigmented and absolutely stunning on. For $38, it is the perfect cream/satin lipstick and beats my obsession with the Luxetrance line from PMG. It’s what I’m wearing in the shots (unedited/raw, not wearing the liner or the shadow). It is swatched to the right.
Each of these pieces added value to my makeup collection. If you are looking for a minimalistic and sophisticated line, this is it. I do think that we could see a larger selection of shades for darker skin tones, I hope to see this line expand.
I purchased all, and looking forward to adding more pieces to my collection!
