Sephora Spring Sale Recommendations - April 2021

Hllo, hello! It is that time of year again - the Sephora spring sale is around the corner. As a recap, Sephora does a blanket 20-10% off all of its items depending on shopping tier, which happens twice a year:

  • Rouge: April 9 - 19 - 20% OFF

  • VIB: April 13 – 19 - 15% OFF

  • Beauty Insider (free to join, no minimum) - April 15 – 19 - 10% OFF

A gentle reminder to shop responsibly, and that some of these products may be for sale at a greater discount from the brand website. Here are my picks that are broken down by skincare and makeup, with shade recommendations:

Skincare:

Skincare is highly personal, so I'm going to focus on products that are basics to a good skincare routine.

Cleansers:

Serums and Treatments:

I use tretinoin, which does most of the heavy lifting for me. But, I do like to use some supportive skincare for hyperpigmentation and texture. Below are my top picks:

Moisturizers:

I don't put a lot of stock into moisturizers, I just need it to seal my serum and hydrating products in. So, I'm not too picky and don't like to splurge (no La Mer for me). However, here are ones I really enjoy:

Sunscreen:

Body Care:

Hair Treatments and Tools:

Makeup:

I shop all over for makeup, so below is a very non-exhaustive list of some of my favorite products from Sephora that I've tried.

Base and Foundation:

  • Fenty - Any of the three formulas are great. For full coverage, the soft matte has never failed me and I've purchased at least three bottles. For a dewy finish, I like the hydrating formula. The latest release, which is the skin tint Esze Drop, is also great for easy application with fingers!

  • Pat McGrath - For light coverage, I really enjoy the foundation and concealer.

Lips:

  • Charlotte Tilbury - Pillow Talk Intense (creamy, satin) and Walk of No Shame (matte) are fantastic formulas. They are comfortable and easy to wear.

  • Pat McGrath - Any of the Luxetrance lipsticks are amazing and so long-lasting. After they set, they are also mostly transfer-proof.

  • Sephora Collection Jelly Melt - This is a glossy gel stain that is reminiscent of water tints from KBeauty. They are so beautiful and comfortable, perfect for spring and summer. I adore Samba, Flamenco, and Mambo, but you can't go wrong with any of them.

  • Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask - There is a reason this has a cult following, I've been using this for five years and have tried almost all the flavors. It also comes in a tube, love the gummy bear flavor!

Cheeks:

  • Fenty Freestyle Cheeks Out Cream Blush - I love drama class, rose latte, summertime wine, and daiquiri dip. See my swatch video here.

  • Rare Beauty - I personally prefer the Stay Vulnerable formula and love Nearly Berry. It also comes in a gloss, which is beautiful and suitable for darker skin tones.

  • Patrick Ta - Oh She's Different is the GOAT, and it comes in a cream and powder formulation one compact. If you are my skin tone or lighter than me, She's Seductive is also a beautiful, subtle blush.

  • Sephora Collection Spice Market - I've had this powder blush palette for years. Every shade is perfect for medium to deep tan skin. It is an all-in-one travel friendly palette.
